Summer 2005

A fantastic summer! Up the Trent & Mersey through Harecastle tunnel, across the Middlewhich branch of the Shroppie to the mainline and then onto the Llangollen canal. A trip to the end via the aqueducts and tunnels and then back to meet some South African friends at Ellesmere before a trip down the 7 miles of opened Montgomery canal and then back up to the mooring basin and a trip on the steam train through the mountains. The final return journey home took us straight down the Shropshire Union mainline to return to the Ashby in time for the Shackerstone festival!
